2023 Fundraising Races

2023 Fundraising Races

Help Indiana Lyme Connect to Support Hoosiers with Lyme and Save Hoosiers from Lyme.

One of the best ways to raise awareness about Lyme & tick-borne illness is to participate in the run/walk or to support a runner/walker.

This year we have TWO options for participating in the race:

  • Participate in a virtual walk/run anytime in the month of May. You choose the distance, time, and place. Start now.
  • Participate in the LIVE 2023 500 Festival races at the Indianapolis International Speedway on Saturday, May 6. Two distances to choose from:
    • OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon (13.1 miles)
    • Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K (3.1 miles)

Whichever race you choose, you get to create a fundraising page that you share with people so they can donate toward your fundraising goal.  (Don’t worry: it’s really easy to make a page where people can donate toward your fundraising goal. We’ll even give you easy ways to share the news with your friends on social media, email, or even via snail mail.)

By running/walking, you’ll have a chance to raise awareness about Lyme and also to raise funds for ILC so that we can keep SUPPORTING Hoosiers who have Lyme and SAVING more Hoosiers from the dangers of tick-borne illnesses.

Here’s how it works:

1. Register for a walk or run below.
2. Create a fundraising page.
3. Tell people about your race!

Then, you’ll either RUN or WALK your race. Take pics and share the news! You’re going to make an impact! You’ll help people learn about the realities of Lyme, and also raise funds for ILC that will go directly to help SUPPORT Hoosiers who have Lyme and to SAVE Hoosiers from Lyme and tick-borne illnesses.

You choose the time, place, and distance! This race option is NOT affiliated with OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon or Delta Dental 500 Festival 5K.

  1. Register for your race here. There is no cost to register (but you will not get the Indy Mini shirt, participant prizes, etc.)

Race Participant Notes

  • ILC strongly suggests that if you have Lyme disease you seek permission from your doctor/physician before walking/running.
  • Wheelchair participants are welcome! Wheelchair racers need to supply their own wheelchair and pusher if needed.
  • Any participant (for either the live or virtual races) who raises at least $100 will receive an ILC t-shirt (while supplies last).

Support an ILC Runner/Walk

You don’t even have to put on your running shoes to make a difference! Support an ILC runner by making a tax-deductible donation on one of their pages.
